Up, Up, and Away: Soaring Through the Air We Share
This week is all about the air in our atmosphere! We will find out what kinds of gases make up our air, and learn about how the carbon cycle helps keep balanced levels of gas in our atmosphere so that organisms can breathe and flourish on Earth. During our daily hikes, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for creatures that soar through the sky, and use our powers of observation to figure out how and why they are able to fly. Learn about Bernoulli’s principle of flight, and then use what we’ve learned to build our own flying machines. Experiment with air currents, and learn about the role that air plays in the weather systems and climate right here in the Bay Area.
