Lara Lemur

Lara Lemur has been working with Tree Frog Treks for the past 4 summers, as well as helping out with special programs throughout the school year. This year, she is stepping into the role of Precita Park Camp Director, and looking forward to a very fun summer! Some of Lara's favorite TFT memories are:

  • Spotting a red-earred slider laying eggs at Stowe Lake
  • Getting pooped on by Feisty the Snake (it’s good luck!)
  • Joining the "Banana Slug Club" at Baker Beach
  • Getting 4 year olds to peacefully hold a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach in Mission Bay Library (shhh....it's a library!)
  • Winning a whip cream battle against her co-teachers during chemistry week last summer!

Lara has been working with children in a variety of roles over the last five years, as a tutor, naturalist, teacher, and mentor for San Francisco youth. She is currently a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Social Justice Education at USF and teaches 4th grade for SFUSD. She is passionate about empowering youth to realize their potential and encouraging them explore their imagination and creativity. Lara is also a Harry Potter enthusiast, frequent dance party initiator, and is all about creating positive experiences and communities with campers and counselors!
