Come exploring with Tree Frog Treks! Get your goggles, strap your shoes on tight, and get ready to get out and get dirty! At Tree Frog Treks Day Camps, we make science fun while exploring the great outdoors, doing hands-on science experiments and art projects, and learning new ways to save, preserve and maintain our home!
Amazing Animal Encounters!
Meet, greet, hold and feed all of your favorite Animal Ambassadors like Buddy the Green Iguana, Ivan the African Spurred Tortoise and Fred the Leopard Gecko, as well as our new rescued Ambassadors like Gomez the Dwarf Spiny-tailed Monitor and Blondie the Albino Burmese Python.
Exciting Hands-On Science and Art Projects!
Become an expert explorer with our outdoor educators! Learn to use graduated cylinders and Erlenmeyer flasks to measure out potent potions and chemical creations! Launch your fruit cannonballs in specially calibrated catapults! Become a junior meteorologist by learning about San Francisco's wild weather and the world's climate patterns! Create a miniature model of a butterfly metamorphosis! Build a really rockin' boat that will really float!
Enriching Environmental Explorations!
Race snails and learn how to turn your lunch into incredible edibles for plants, bugs and slugs during our Litter-Less Lunch Campaign! See things in nature you never saw before as you hone your powers of observation and track animals as a field biologist! Learn how to survive in the wilderness as we trek through Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Crissy Field in San Francisco, or Robert's Redwood Park in Oakland!
2008 Summer Camp Themes
- Planet Earth Explorer: Explore the habitats of planet earth, investigate plant and animal homes, and look at what makes life on earth unique!
This week we will build a weather station, explore our own habitat, and investigate how plants and animals exist around the world. We will take closer look at oceans and islands, explore desolate deserts to the ice covered arctic, and delve into the tropical Amazon rainforest. (Sessions 1a, 2a and 3a.)
- Backyard Laboratory: Examine the microscopic world around us, discover what is living in our own backyard, and experiment with light and the science of photosynthesis!
This week we’ll be using microscopes & magnifiers, making our own natural dyes from native plants, and experimenting with light reflection and refraction using mirrors and prisms. We will also look at how animals and plants need light to survive. (Sessions 1b, 2b and 3b.)
- Survivor Frog: Learn how to survive in the wild, and what people &other animals need to survive and thrive!
This week we’ll trek and track through the park, using compasses and making maps along the way. We will also make tools, identify edible plants, create a shelter, and see how plants and animals survive in the wild. (Sessions 1c, 2c and 3c.)

Session-specific drop off and pick up instructions are included in camp packets, which were emailed on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. If you did not receive this email, please contact our office to verify your child's registration information. Camp Packets and Waiver Form may be downloaded below.

Camps Refund Policy
Our camps refund policy is as follows:
- Before Apr 1: Camp fee refunded less 10% administration fee
- Between Apr 1-May 31: Camp fee refunded less 50% administration fee
- On or after Jun 1: Camp fee is nonrefundable
- There is no camp on July 4th. If you enroll for the week of 6/30-7/3, you will be refunded $50.
