Nature, Photos & Art for Pre-Teens and Teens!
"This was one of the best experiences [my daughter] has had! Thanks for the fabulous week!"
Digital Nature is an innovative mix of technology and good old-fashioned wilderness exploration, designed as a way for pre-teens and teens to understand, document and share their interactions with nature to become better citizen scientists. Led and supported by experienced TFT Naturalists Taj "Mr. Wolf" and Tony "Hawk", campers can take various approaches to their exploration and discovery of nature, such as photography, field sketching, and writing -- or all three! They can then share their work with family and peers on social media sites such as Instagram, Tumblr, and Facebook to spread the beauty of science and nature.
Digital Nature One-Day Camps with Mr. Science!
Columbus/Indigenous People's Day (Oct 13) | Veterans Day (Nov 11)
For 4th - 8th graders | 9:00 am - 4:30 pm | $125 | 2114 Hayes St., SF
Just because they're not in school doesn't mean a child has to stay home! On school holidays this year, Mr. Science, Taj "Mr. Wolf" and Tony "Hawk" will be driving a group of students to a wild location in the Bay Area to explore and document the rich diversity of life around us! It's a perfect blend of new technology and good old fashioned nature exploration, and an experience campers won't soon forget!
Please note that while this camp is open to 4th graders, it may be a hard day for some of them. Our regular One-Day Camps may be a better option for children who want less hiking. Also, the photography element of our Digital Nature One-Day Camps is optional for kids who just want to focus on hiking and exploring.
Drop-off and pick-up will be at Tree Frog Treks' Frog Hall, 2114 Hayes Street, San Francisco.
The photos below were taken by campers at our Digital Nature Camps. Check out our other Digital Nature albums here!
