Festivals, Fairs, Picnics & More!
In presentations led by energetic and knowledgeable naturalists, we encourage children and adults to see themselves as part of a larger system of natural life in which every organism, from mosquito to shark and flower to mushroom, plays an important part.
Our naturalists will introduce children and adults to a variety of our creeping, crawling and slithering co-workers, from tiny Pacific Tree Frogs to 14-foot-long Burmese Pythons. We'll discuss how they've adapted to their natural habitats and examine what role they play in the ecosystem.
Our presentation can be tailored to meet your event's theme and audience. Other topics and curriculum are available.

Women's Environmental Network Nature Hike

Location: Main Post Parade Ground, Presidio Park
Event hours: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Please come join us for a leisurely walk down the hills and trails of our gorgeous Presidio with Chris Giorni, Director of Tree Frog Treks. We will scan the sky for Red-tailed Hawks, Anna's humming birds and Great Blue Herons as we travel from the forested hills to the edge of the Bay. Along the way we will gently flip a log or two in search of sleeping salamanders and an astounding variety of insect life including centipedes, isopods and darkling beetles. We will identify native plant life and even sample some edible varieties like Miner’s lettuce as we make our way through the oak woodlands and redwood groves in our very own Presidio backyard. As the sun sets, we will listen quietly for the evening chorus of birds and frogs to signal the end of another day. So bundle up, bring a snack, strap on your hiking boots and let’s get out and get dirty on our crepuscular hike! Please note that this hike is geared more towards adults than children but all ages are welcome.
The cost of this event is $10 per person. Click here to register!
