Discovery Day School

Tree Frog Treks offers weekly two-hour science & nature exploration programs for kids in pre-school and kindergarten (4 & up) in local parks around the Bay Area. We explore science and practice critical thinking through hands-on experiments and outdoor adventures, and inspire a love of nature and learning through contact with live rescued reptiles and amphibians.
Our teachers will incorporate these valuable learning components in to each camp day, and your kids will take away an experience that will benefit them in the school years ahead:
- Refine motor skills, like coordination and balance on our nature hikes and learning to climb small trees.
- Heighten sensory-motor skills through simple art projects, like leaf rubbings or seed mosaics, and touching science specimens like shells, bones, pelts, and more.
- Use various tools, to gather information, investigate materials, and observe processes and relationships, through hands-on science projects such “Hot & Cold Chemistry” or “Sink or Float Density."
- Learn self-regulation through games and listening activities, where concern for others, interest in peers, and sharing will be encouraged.
- Connect to the world around us on insect & bird searches, and through interactions with our animal ambassadors, like Trucker the Red-footed Tortoise, or Neptune the Blue-tongue Skink.
Next Session: September 2nd - November 4th (10 visits)
Classes will take place in the Presidio at Julius Kahn Park
Thursdays from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for $495
