Festivals, Fairs, Picnics & More!
Our energetic and knowledgeable naturalists will make science come alive at your next festival, picnic or fair. Through our hands on presentations, we encourage children and adults to see themselves as part of a larger system of natural life, in which every organism from cricket to crocodile, plays an important part. Our presentations can be tailored to fit your event and are a unique opportunity to see a host of exotic critters up close!
Our naturalists will introduce children and adults to a variety of our creeping, crawling and slithering co-workers, from tiny Leopard Geckos to 7-foot-long Centralian Pythons. We'll discuss how they've adapted to their natural habitats and examine what role they play in the ecosystem.
Our presentation can be tailored to meet your event's theme and audience.

Summer Stride Kick Off Event

Celebrate the launch of Summer Stride with a day of fun inside and outside the Portola Branch.
Starting at 1:00 delight in stories shared by Drag Queen Per Sia, as she takes you on an enchanted tour that celebrates a rainbow of diversity, fun and the unique value and worth of each of us. A fabulous face painter will also be in attendance.

Growing Together Day

After a two year COVID-hiatus, the San Francisco Summer Resource Fair is back and will be better than ever! The Summer Resource Fair will feature 100 summer camps, classes, programs, and services for children in grades K-8.
Bug Day @ Randall Museum

Bug Day is a free to the public event, geared towards the youth and their parents, and is all about exploring and learning about our insect and arachnid friends. Last year, this event had over 1500 guests come and enjoy the crafts, games, and all the bug-themed organization’s tables.
Alamo Scare! (Halloween Event)
Community partners will host interactive STEAM workshops and live exhibits including live Animal Ambassadors from Tree Frog Treks.
