Francisco Park

FRANCISCO PARK — two weeks of Summer 2026 where Mr. Science’s Carbon Kids Marine Bio Adventures come to life!

Tree Frog Treks is back with a brand-new Wild Science option at Francisco Park: two full weeks of hands-on marine biology, animal ambassadors, and citywide adventures. Each day campers meet live animals, run fun experiments, and build critical-thinking skills while exploring San Francisco’s outdoor classrooms with peers and expert instructors. Our Animal Ambassadors — like Spike the bearded dragon, Blondie the Burmese python, Eenie and Meenie the fire bellied toads— help bring urban ecosystems and coastal life into vivid focus. We play games, tell stories, and uncover the hidden wildlife of our neighborhoods. We Wander and Wonder Together!

Come one, come all! This highly mobile, adventure-packed program meets at Francisco Park and travels across the city using Bus, Muni, and walking to reach some of San Francisco’s best green spaces and coastal learning sites. Tree Frog Trekkers, listen, carried on the wind, do you hear...It's the call of the sea!  We will launch our oceans and motions adventure from the beautiful Aquatic Park area in search of green lined shore crabs, sand (aka mole) crabs, black turban snails, soaring pelicans and diving harbor seals turning the whole city into our classroom. After a hearty snack we will hit the beach equipped with shovels, nets, collecting containers and weather permitting boogie boards and more! (There are no sizable waves at Aquatic Park. It is a great place to get wet for beginners).  Other points of interest that we may visit include the South End Rowing club, the Maritime museum, the SF Maritime National Historical Park, Musee Mecanique, USS Pampanito submarine, SS Jeremiah O'Brien and the Greater Farallones Visitor Center. So, get your sand castle plans ready, grab your sunscreen and towel, it's time to become a marine biologist.

Who it’s for: Perfect for curious, energetic explorers who love the water, marine life, and being on the move. If your camper enjoys discovering new places, doing science outside, and making friends while learning about coastal ecosystems, this Francisco Park Carbon Kids Marine Bio Adventure is for them.

Note: This is a place based camp.  We will investigate the Aquatic Park/Crissy Field area intensively.  We will rely on Walking and the Muni bus predominantly ( and we may even grab a Ghiradelli chocolate while we are at it!).
