Tree Frog Treks is excited to continue a partnership with Junipero Serra Annex to pilot a Before and Afterschool Program for the 2026 Spring school year session! This unique program offers students joyful, hands-on learning in science and nature—focused on curiosity, movement, and wild, outdoor fun.

Curriculum Highlights:

Tree Frog Treks is rooted in wild science—offering kids the freedom to play, hike, create, and learn outside. Each week includes a mix of:

• Nature exploration & hikes

• Outdoor science experiments

• Arts & crafts in the wild

• "Animal Time" with TFT Animal Ambassadors

• Group games and movement

• Seasonal themes and weekly agendas

Students attending J Serra Early Education Center Annex
Grades: TK

Enrollment Options:
-Families may enroll for specific days or the full week.

- Naturalist Ratio to Participants 1:6.
-Minimum enrollment needed for each program- Sign up with friends to help meet the minimum—if a day does not meet enrollment minimum, it may not be offered.

- Payment Installments (4) available. Small discount for registering for both Before and Afterschool Programming.

Calendar & Important Dates:
Program begins in Spring 2026 following the SFUSD academic calendar.

Programming Dates:

Monday January 5th 2026 - May 29th 2026.

Program runs Monday through Friday.

Closure Dates:

• 1/19 MLK Holiday

• 2/16 Presidents Day

• 2/17 Lunar New Year,

• March 27th-April 3rd Spring Break

• May 25th Memorial Day.

  * Early Release Schedule for parent teacher conference week- March 2nd-6th, 2:30 PM release all week.

TFT runs camps on these holidays, some of which have Pre K and K enrollment options!

Before School programming

Program Overview

Location & Pickup:

🌄 Before School: Families meet each morning at the Holly Park Circle Picnic Area, located just a hop away from J Serra Annex. Families should drop off their child between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM to ensure enough time for the group to walk together to school.

At approximately 9:10/9:15 AM, Tree Frog Treks staff will lead the students on a short walk to J Serra Annex (155 Appleton Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110) to arrive in time for the school day (9:30 AM start).

🌄 Before School

• Days: Monday–Friday (or partial week options)

• Drop-off: Between 8:00 AM and 8:45 AM at Holly Park Circle (Picnic Area)

• Cost: $15/day

  • Mondays only $255

  • Tuesdays only $285

  • Wednesdays only $300

  • Thursdays only $300

  • Fridays only $285

  • Full week session (M-F full term): $1,425.00

    - Payment Installments (4) available.

Important Notes:

• There is no transportation provided for morning drop-off—you must bring your child to Holly Park.

• Children must be dropped off by 8:45 AM to ensure a smooth transition to school.

• The program runs rain or shine, so please dress your child for outdoor conditions each morning. IF inclement weather is noted, our program drop-off may shift to “Frog Hall” (3835 Mission St) location which will be communicated via email to all families.

Afterschool Programming

Program Overview

Location & Pickup:

🌞 Afterschool: Students will be picked up daily from J Serra Annex (155 Appleton Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110) and will travel to nearby outdoor locations including Holly Park and Tree Frog Treks' “Frog Hall” (3835 Mission St) by trekking!

🌞 Afterschool

• Days: Monday–Friday (or partial week options)

• Pickup from school: 3:45 PM (Wednesday early release at 2:30 PM)

• Pickup window: 5:15–5:45 PM at Holly Park or Frog Hall

• Cost: $25/day

  • Mondays only $425

  • Tuesdays only $475

  • Wednesdays only $500

  • Thursdays only $500

  • Fridays only $475

  • Full week session (M-F full term): $2,375.00

    - Payment Installments (4) available.

Pickup will occur at Holly Park or Frog Hall, depending on the day's schedule- your group will have an allocated day set for Frog Hall!

• You will receive a weekly agenda to alert you to the upcoming weeks activities and any changes to programming plans- please be sure to check your emails for communications.

• The program runs rain or shine, so please dress your child for outdoor conditions. IF inclement weather is noted, our program pickup may shift to “Frog Hall” (3835 Mission St) or other indoor location which will be communicated via email to all families.
