“Dingo” Danny

I’m Daniel Amaya, but around camp, everyone knows me as “Dingo Danny.” My journey with this camp started when I was a young camper, and I quickly fell in love with the programs and the spirit of adventure here. As I got older, I became a Counselor In Training (CIT) and, at 18, transitioned into an official camp counselor and naturalist. My passion for this camp has kept me here all these years, and I’m excited to continue serving as the Summer Camp Director. This will be my third year in the role, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep building meaningful experiences for our campers and staff.

I am dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone at camp. I hold certifications in First Aid and CPR, prioritizing the well-being of both our staff and campers. I believe in creating a secure and nurturing environment where everyone can have fun and thrive. I’m known for being responsible, easy to talk to, and compassionate, and I love bringing a sense of fun to everything we do here at camp.

In my free time, I enjoy walking my dogs and taking care of my aquatic pets. These hobbies reflect my love for animals and the outdoors, which aligns perfectly with the camp’s focus on nature and exploration. I’m looking forward to leading another unforgettable summer filled with adventure, learning, and lots of fun.
